FIORDLAND
NATIONAL PARK

This is one of the most visited
regions in New Zealand right at the southwestern corner
of the South Island. It's a must on any New Zealand
itinerary with its famous hiking trails, spectacular
scenery and the famed Milford Sound. The Milford Sound
is one of the most visited areas and most accessible.
The village lies under Mitre Peak and is the launching
place for cruises or kayaking on Milford Sound - keep
a look out for seals and the Kea bird. The Milford Track,
Dusky, Kepler, Hollyford and Routeburn tracks all base
in this area. If you visit for the walks book the huts
well in advance and come prepared for wet weather gear
and pesky insects!
